HK416 assault rifle

 

One of the latest Heckler & Koch products is the HK416 assault rifle. Some say it is »repaired« and improved M4 Carbine which was until HK416 showed up one of the leading assault rifle's used in combat. Major change was made to the new style gas system which was borrowed from HK G36.

Designed by U.S. Army's Delta force and German arms in 2005 it soon become very popular all over the world. The new rifle parts were a lot more reliable and had reduced failure and jamming in combat.

After it was tested by United States military and law enforcement agencies it has almost instantly appeared in »hot« areas all over the world.

Design details and specifications:

HK416 equipped with the new gas system replaced the direct impingement gas system used in previous rifles like M16. With it the gas caused by burning gunpowder is being quicker removed from the rifle’s interior which prevents any damage to the interior parts. This also solved a problem of reliability and jamming during the combat. The HK416 is also equipped with a new rail (mounting platform) forearm which had been improved for better accuracy and better fit for accessories. Barrel is cold hammer-forged and has a life sentence of 20,000 bullets. The barrel had been also improved for extreme environments: moisture, rain, water, ... For different purposes and demands there were created few variations: D10RS, D14.5RS, D16.5RS, D20RS, MR223, HK417.
